Nokia 808 PureView new samples

Most of the photos have been downsized to 5 megapixels, which supposedly allows us to see the best of the PureView technology and they are really impressive. The dynamic range and the amount of fine detail resolved is splendid and while we can't say anything about their accuracy, colors certainly look nice. Not to mention the shallow depth of field, which is normally next to impossible to achieve with a cameraphone.
Have a look at Nokia 808 Pure View for  full gallery over here.

Though most current Android smartphones come with high-resolution cameras, most of these pale in comparison to theiPhone 4S’ 8-MP shooter Not only does the average Android camera take lower quality pictures than Apple’s handset, it also takes a lot longer to fire up and shoot. HTC”s new One S phone promises to change all that by providing high-speed shots, an f/2.0 aperture 8-MP lens for improved picture quality, and powerful camera software that provides over a dozen filters, HDR mode and more.
To see which phone takes the best pictures and provides the best overall photo-taking experience, we grabbed an HTC One S and an iPhone 4S and used them to shoot the same subjects. The results may surprise you.

Root Your Samsung Galaxy Y S5360

We will be covering how to install ICS on Galaxy Y soon, but before that you need a tutorial on how to root your Samsung Galaxy Y.
A tiny notice that I’m sure you must be knowing as well. Rooting your Android phone will void your warranty, but then you would be able to enjoy your favourite root apps i.e Titanium Backup.

Check Samsung Galaxy Y Software Version

First, make sure you are on the required Android version so there are no issues later when trying to root your Samsung Galaxy Y. Galaxy Y should be on Android 2.3.5 / 2.3.6. How to check that? Follow the simple steps below:
  • Go to Settings.
  • Then scroll to the bottom and tap “About phone”.
If it is not Android 2.3.5 / 2.3.6, then please don’t proceed with the tutorial or you might brick your phone or  lose your existing phone data.
Disclaimer: We are not to be held responsible if you damage or brick your device. We don’t have you on gun point to try out this tutorial ;-)
Make sure you have installed all your USB drivers for the Samsung Galaxy Y to connect it with the computer. Now, let’s proceed with the tutorial on the next page to root your phone.

Root Your Galaxy Y S5360 on Android 2.3.5 / 2.3.6

We have put together a detailed step-by-step instructions guide on how to root Galaxy Y on Android 2.3.5. If you are used to installing custom ROMs on your Samsung Galaxy Y, then this should not be any different for you.
Disclaimer: Try this on your own risk. I’m not responsible if you mess up with your Galaxy Y.
Just To Remember:
  • This tutorial is only for Galaxy Y (S5360) and I am not sure if it will work on the other variants of the Galaxy Y on other carriers.
  • My phone has Android 2.3.5 (official update) which was NOT rooted.
  • Make sure you backup all your data in your phone before proceeding.
Complete Step-By-Step Instructions:
Step 1 - Download update.zip for Galaxy Y on your PC, if you haven’t already.
Step 2 - Connect and mount your Galaxy Y USB memory on your computer using the USB cable.
Step 3 - Now copy/paste the update.zip file to your SD card. Make sure the file is in the root (not in any folders).
Step 4 - Then turn off your phone.
Step 5 - Now to get in the recovery mode. Turn on the phone while pressing and holding the volume up, home and power buttons.
Step 6 - You will get an exclamation mark now. Again hold your volume up and power buttons. You should now be in your recovery mode.
Step 7 - Select update from SD card. Now select update.zip file and select it with the Power button. Installation should start now.
Step 8 - After the installation completes, the phone will boot now and it might take about 5 minutes to boot on your first time. So, please wait.

How to Install Apps in \system\app Folder Manually

Most users won’t need this tutorial, but for those who play around with tools/hacks and other suck apps that require you to push an app to the system apps directory, I’m sure this will be very helpful.
The \system\apps directory in your phone is write-protected and you can’t install anything in there or modify the files. But ofcourse, if you have a rooted Android phone (system access), then you can easily modify system files.

How to Install Apps in \system\app Folder Manually

In this tutorial, I will be using Root Explorer. It is a paid app, and the best one available for such tweaking with system files. You can buy Root Explorer from the Android Market for $4. Follow the steps below:
1. Download and install Root Explorer. [Market Enabler]
2. Transfer the file that is to be pushed to \system\app directory to your SD card. We’ll call the file as sample.apk.
3. Now open Root Explorer and go to \sdcard adn copy sample.apk file.
4. Navigate to \system\app now and press the “Mount R/W’ button to make the directory writable.
5. Paste the sample.apk file here. Now long press the file and select Permissions.
6. Set the file permissions as:
Owner: Read, Write
Group: Read
Others: Read
7. Tap OK to save the file permissions. Under the file sample.apk, you should now see “rw-r–r–”.
8. Press the “Mount R/O” button now and restart your phone.
After your phone restarts, you should now see the app sample.apk already installed in your phone. This is how you can install any app in \system\app folder if you have a rooted phone.

All you have to do is visit the source link below and punch in a few details, Nokia will then ship it out free of charge.
