Root Your Samsung Galaxy Y S5360

We will be covering how to install ICS on Galaxy Y soon, but before that you need a tutorial on how to root your Samsung Galaxy Y.
A tiny notice that I’m sure you must be knowing as well. Rooting your Android phone will void your warranty, but then you would be able to enjoy your favourite root apps i.e Titanium Backup.

Check Samsung Galaxy Y Software Version

First, make sure you are on the required Android version so there are no issues later when trying to root your Samsung Galaxy Y. Galaxy Y should be on Android 2.3.5 / 2.3.6. How to check that? Follow the simple steps below:
  • Go to Settings.
  • Then scroll to the bottom and tap “About phone”.
If it is not Android 2.3.5 / 2.3.6, then please don’t proceed with the tutorial or you might brick your phone or  lose your existing phone data.
Disclaimer: We are not to be held responsible if you damage or brick your device. We don’t have you on gun point to try out this tutorial ;-)
Make sure you have installed all your USB drivers for the Samsung Galaxy Y to connect it with the computer. Now, let’s proceed with the tutorial on the next page to root your phone.
